This site was started as a graphical interface for tracking my live Led Zeppelin recordings. I transcribed as much of Robert's 'Plantations' as I could as a way to compare different bootleg versions. Thanks for ANY input you may have. This site will be updated daily. If you have a comment or suggestion please email me by clicking on the EMAIL link on the left menu bar.

Back in 2004, Watch Tower released a one disc title called Led Zeppelin’s Rock Carnival (WT 2004111). Clocking in at just over an hour covering the first third of the September 23rd, 1971 Tokyo show, this tape is in excellent quality and is perhaps the best sounding to emerge from Zeppelin’s first show at the Budokan. Rock Carnival was also frustrating in its incompleteness and with the fact that the rest of the tape supposedly burned in a fire many years ago. It seems that is only a rumor, and a false one at that. Last week surfaced a three disc set titled Led Zeppelin’s Flying Rock Carnival 1971 Complete. This is supposed to be the complete Rock Carnival source in excellent quality. This specific release is aimed for only the Osaka market and is already sold out. Needless to say, this will be released again very very soon (so don’t panic!)
July 23, 2008
Scorpio have re-released Timeless Rock on their Watchtower label. This is a re-release of the September 23rd, 1971 Tokyo show they issued in 2001, but with a snazzy new cover. And Drive Me Insane contains three 1969 shows from the Fillmore East.

Wendy finally has an interesting Led Zeppelin release coming out soon. The Nobs (Wendy WECD-124/125) is a two disc set with the February 28th, 1970 at the KB Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark. Famous for being the show where they changed their name for one night to appease the nut Eva Von Zeppelin, this tape hasn’t been released in about fifteen years and has been very difficult to find.

The Wendy label will release Led Zeppelin Get Back To Where You Once Belonged (WECD-118/119/120). This is the three CD set with the Tucson, Arizona show on June 28th, 1972 with three bonus tracks, “Black Dog,” “Over The Hills And Far Away,” and “Dazed And Confused” from the June 27th, 1972 Long Beach show. The Scorpio label released two Led Zeppelin titles recently. Good Times Bad Times is a two disc set with both the October 10th, 1969 Paris radio broadcast on disc one and the October 12th, Lyceum Theater, London show on disc two. The Paris tape is from the radio broadcast and is not any more complete than the other versions released. According to the label, they edited out the French mc. Get Back is a three disc set with Led Zeppelin’s June 28th, 1972 Tucson Arizona show, the final night of their legendary 1972 summer US tour.
June 27, 2008
Tarantura has released the Led Zeppelin 3CD set, Performed Live In Seattle, utilizing a soundboard/ audience mix of the July 17, 1973 performance. Also coming out on Wendy is Chaos And Change (WECD-115/116/117). This is the first release in three years of the March 11, 1975 Long Beach Millard tape. The late, great Mike Millard was a great taper and his recordings are legend.

The Balloon Boy’s Rock Carnival In Tokyo (EVSD-513/514/515) is the strange name for Empress Valley’s latest Led Zeppelin release. This covers the September 24th, 1971 Budokan show utilizing the old TDOLZ Light And Shade audience recording. Also released on EV today is The Lost Sessions Vol. 12: All Roads Lead To Headley Grange Vol. 3 (EVSD-511). This is another regurgitation of common material with 'Kashmir,' 'Trampled Underfoot,' 'Swan Song' and 'Custard Pie.'

The new The Chronicles Of Led Zeppelin have released their first two titles. How Many Years Gone With The Wind (The Chronicles Of Led Zeppelin 001/002/003) contains the April 23, 1977 show at the Omni in Atlanta, Georgia. This is the first silver release of this show. Long Drive To Seattle (The Chronicles Of Led Zeppelin 004/005/006/007) is a four disc set with the alternate tape source that was partially used on No Quarter on H-Bomb source for the March 21, 1975 concert with the legendary 45 minute version of Dazed & Confused. The Godfather Records will release Robert Plant and Allison Krauss' The Long Journey 2CD audience tape from the May 10 Dusseldorf show & Led Zeppelin's Royal Albert Hall: The Initial Tapes 2CD of the Kevin Shirley working master tapes used for the DVD set.
June 18, 2008
The Tarantura label released today Performed Live In Seattle (Tarantura TCD-76-1, 2, 3). This is a three disc set covering Led Zeppelin’s July 17th, 1973 show in Seattle, Washington. Just released is the Led Zeppelin title When a Glass Was Thrown 2CD containing the Buffalo recording from October 30, 1969 on the Tarantura label. There is confirmed a mis-pressing on Disc 3 of the 6/22/77 show in the recent Empress Valley FBO Box Set and it is expected that EV will be issuing a replacement disc for those that purchased but that is NOT confirmed...keep in touch with your network about that possibility. "A new Led Zeppelin-dedicated label was announced May 19. The Chronicles Of Led Zeppelin is established as an original successor to the now legendary The Diagrams Of Led Zeppelin label and is set to release many uncirculated sources from the Led Zeppelin live catalogue," reports Collectors Music Reviews. The Japanese label intends to re-release all existing tapes without "heavy equalization or editing". They are planning to use only the master tapes or low generation copies. The first two titles due in June will include the Seattle March 21, 1975 alternate source and the Atlanta April 23, 1977 tapes. While the Seattle source was previously used as a filler to the original (basic) tape on H-Bomb's No Quarter many years ago, Atlanta seems to be the debut of this rather very good sounding material. "All in all," says Collectors Music Reviews, "it seems this is the beginning of something much larger than we could have expected before and I hope this newest budget label will be a correct and definitive answer to the highly overrated Empress Valley Supreme Disc and Tarantura labels."
